Medical Resources for IC 35-40.5 & HIPAA

These resources are collected from many different areas to provide our Health Care Partners with the necessary information they need in order to coordinate their response to Sexual Assault while still adhearing to HIPAA. 

 

It is Lake County's Procedure to activate Advocacy Services upon patient presention to the ER using only de-identified information.  "This is _______ hospital calling to request an advocate." 

 

Privacy Rule permits release of certain information under the certain circumstances. There are no restrictions on the use or disclosure of de-identified health information.
