The Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) is a community-based effort to coordinate resources to respond effectively to sexual assault incidents within our community.
The SART provides FREE comprehensive services to victims of sexual assault including forensic medical examinations to document injuries and preserve evidence that may be used to prosecute the perpetrator.
The SART also promotes public education and trainings for individuals/agencies who provide services to victims of sexual assault.
The purpose of the Lake County, Indiana Sexual Assault Response Team is to coordinate a victim centered, collaborative, interdisciplinary response to all victims of sexual assault by providing comprehensive forensic evaluation, continued advocacy and criminal justice services in an ethical and compassionate manner.

Lake County SART is accepting nominations for the 2026 Outstanding Service Awards, honoring SART members who demonstrate exceptional, victim-centered and trauma-informed service to survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence. Awards will be presented in four categories:

Nominees must be active Lake County SART members.
SART Chairs are not eligible for nomination.
